G M University (GMU) is a private university located in Davangere, Karnataka, established by the Srishyla Educational Trust under the G.M University Act, 2022, which received the assent of the Governor of Karnataka in March 2023. The university commenced offering academic programmes from September 2023 and was established with the vision of expanding access to quality higher education while preparing students for the academic, professional and technological challenges of the 21st century. G M University builds upon the educational experience of institutions established by the Srishyla Educational Trust, including G M Institute of Technology, which was established in 2001. The university brings together this academic foundation with a broader multidisciplinary approach to higher education.
